My Favorite Cover:
The cover of the September 14, 2001 special edition of TIME features a photograph of the two hijacked airliners ripping through the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001, taken by photographer Lyle Owerkoof. The issue included testimonies from survivors, more photographs of the Twin Towers after the bombings, and a salute to all those who perished in the tragedy.
I like this picture because it shows you a lot that occured during the Septermber 11th catastrophy. The compostition of the photo is what i think makes the picture better because you can see both towers being hit.

Cover History

Early Magazine Covers: These covers are different from the ones today because they look more like a book and not a magazine. They don't have a lot of pictures but more writing because on the front they have the table of contents and a title.
Poster Covers: They are different because they only have one big photo with no words, and they have a big title.
Pictures Married to Type: The covers have one big photo in the middle and have about a paragraph of writing on the left side of the photo.
In The Forest of Words: With this cover all the words are around the picture making the picture look as if in a forest of words. The cover has about only one picture and has a big title but it has like the table of contents in the front of the cover telling you whats going to be in the magazine.

regular portrait

What makes this photo a good picture is that i like the background and how it looks like it was not a posed shot. I also like how it gives you a piece of information on what this man likes to do which is playing the guitar.
What I want to emulate in this photo is being able to show a piece of information about the persons personality.
