Pics

The Composite Image-
I think this is a composite image because when you see a plant growing you don't really see the roots and seeds outside of the plant. So this is a composite image because it can not happen it's unrealistic. I like this photo because it makes you see how a plant really looks underground, and like the development of it.
The Staged illustration
this is a staged illustration because this photo was posed/set up because he's trying to show that scuba diving is very adventurous and that you can never expect what will happen, and so he's trying to manipulate the viewers to go try scuba diving. I like this photo because it gives you a sense of how much fun scuba diving can be.
The Photo Made Into Art
This photo is made into art because it is altered with other photos to make a collage and it makes the photo look more like a painting from the image of the mans face. I like this photo because the facial expression on the man gives you a feel of how sad the tragity was.

This photo is a realistic alteration because it looks as if the ice cream is the original photo and then the fire is added into the background to make it look like its melting the ice cream. I like this photo because the fire makes it look hot and i like how it makes the ice cream look like its melting.

Action Shoot
I have learned that Zone Focus is when you find a spot where you know there is going to be action and focus on that spot and shoot when the action enters the frame. When taking action shots your Shutter Speed has to be high it has to have a big aperture, and high ISO. Use Panning which mean to follow the subject and shoot also keep focus on the same spot. Also you should Wait for the Pause this means a time when there is a pause in the action or game.

I like photo number 9 because I like how it has the cars going by with the steam of light. But i also like the structure of the building. With the circular design going around it makes it look cool. The lighting is what catches my eye because how the lights reflect off the building making it the brightest thing along with the light structures. All in all i really like the building and the design of it.

Nice graphics and lighting with the people on the stairwell
Overall I liked most of her pictures.

Agree The girl running through the hurdle. I like it because it makes you want to know more about the picture like who won or what happen, but i really like how it shows the girls legs passing her up. It looks as if the photographer was at the finish line of the track. I Disagree about the kids about to fight with the blue and red mats. I dont think it should be off centered because havin it centered makes it balanced

I agree with the judges on the rugby picture about it being first because I like how the guys eye is being poked and by him showing emotions shows how dangerous and crazy the game is.
I disagree with the judges about the racing picture with the girls falling because I think it should be in the top 3. I think this because it shows a lot of action and how it catches your eye, also how it makes you want to know what happens next.

My Favorite Cover:

The cover of the September 14, 2001 special edition of TIME features a photograph of the two hijacked airliners ripping through the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001, taken by photographer Lyle Owerkoof. The issue included testimonies from survivors, more photographs of the Twin Towers after the bombings, and a salute to all those who perished in the tragedy.
I like this picture because it shows you a lot that occured during the Septermber 11th catastrophy. The compostition of the photo is what i think makes the picture better because you can see both towers being hit.

Cover History
Early Magazine Covers: These covers are different from the ones today because they look more like a book and not a magazine. They don't have a lot of pictures but more writing because on the front they have the table of contents and a title.
Poster Covers: They are different because they only have one big photo with no words, and they have a big title.
Pictures Married to Type: The covers have one big photo in the middle and have about a paragraph of writing on the left side of the photo.
In The Forest of Words: With this cover all the words are around the picture making the picture look as if in a forest of words. The cover has about only one picture and has a big title but it has like the table of contents in the front of the cover telling you whats going to be in the magazine.

regular portrait

What I want to emulate in this photo is being able to show a piece of information about the persons personality.
